Astute Accuracy

Dear Mr Pipes,

I have been reading various articles on the Arab World, Islam and the many sub-issues that relate to it and the effect it has on America and the rest of The World. A couple of weeks ago, I chanced upon your website and was extremely delighted to discover in-depth articles written and researched by you and MEF staff/contributors. The Middle Eastern Forum has outlined with sleuth accuracy many issues that are of concern to America, post 9/11. The Wahhabi sect of 'petro-Islam' that Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Sates export is clearly a threat to the fabric of American society and to a no-lesser extent, the rest of The World - Islamic or otherwise!

Back in Singapore where I'm from, I have witnessed an overall metamorphosis of Islam practised by the Malay-Muslim minority (16%) -from a laid-back religiosity to a more austere and enforced take on Islam and its code of conduct. The arrest of Islamists terrorist in Singapore; including 21 just last week is of grave concern Singaporeans, especially the Chinese non-Muslim majority (76%). It just goes to prove that all societies are at risk; America cannot and must not stand alone in her fight against Islamist/terrorist. America must nip the problem at the source - the export of Saudi Wahhabism - it is the carbon monoxide that spawns acts of fanaticism and terrorism.
