The missing formula?

Reader comment on item: Philadelphia's Burqa Crisis
in response to reader comment: Amin, you just do not get it

It is you again. Where is that formula? Hasn't it been several years? Do you know how the line goes - "once a liar . . . "

- - -

"There are rules of dress for certain clubs and institutions that dictate what you can and cannot wear within the institutions boundaries"

A private institution has leeway to enforce its own rules. This has NOTHING to do with government policy.

- - -

"There are laws in many western countires that prohibit such symbols as the nazi swatika."

Actually - I don't any . . .

For one thing - if one wears such Swastika within confines of his own home or general public space - I doubt any Western government will stop this. As all have "racist" elements that do just that.

The Swastika is also a symbol of Hinduism. In that capacity - again - I doubt any Western government will ban it.

- - -

"There are laws which prohibit the wearing of Police Uniforms or Army Uniforms if you are not authorised."

Yet - there are limits even to this enforcement. Acting, Fancy Dress. . .

- - -

"The Burka and other Islamic dress can be offensive to many people"

Your personal offense has got NOTHING to do with it. I find skinny jeans VERY offensive . . . ban htem?

- - -

"Therefore, it is the right of a society to enact laws to protect the public, and the debate really how offensive, and how much does the burka contribute to crime verses the rights of a woman to wear it in public."

Stats?

Cars facilitate in crime . . .

Guns . . .

Knives . . . .

An idiotic argument. . .

- - -

Your over-riding theme is of "offence" - your personal like/dislike has notihng to do with it. You have the habit of letting your prejudice go wild.

Then you back-track and grab on to any fictitious lie going. You have past form. . .
