Reader comment on item: Philadelphia's Burqa Crisis
in response to reader comment: The missing formula?

Submitted by PeterHall (Australia), Apr 16, 2013 at 21:27

So getting away from your idiotic argument,

I am trying to say that like guns, cars and knives, or inappropriate clothing, burkas do present a issue in a Western society.

Burkas do present problems with identification of the wearer, do limit the ability to see and communicate, have been used as an aid in the commisiion of crimes, and are seen by many as a symbol of oppression.

Are you going to dispute any of the comments in the last paragraph? If so please "provide a link" as to how burkas improve the ability to identify the wearer? How burkas prevent crimes and how Western women see the Burka as a symbol of Womens liberation?

We are talking about the Western Society here, not Islamic countries which have their own norms.

So there MAY be a need for Western governments to limit the use of burkas and other similar clothing.

Why are you so scared to discuss this? Or is this another example of "sacred cows" that Muslim fear to have discussed?

Submitting....
