You hit the nail on the head again

Dear Mr. Pipes,

While there are others in the Jewish community that see Abbas for what he is and not what the western press fantasizes that he is, you have again zeroed in on the main issue with laser beam accuracy. Abbas has the same goal as Arafat but he is smarter and broader minded enough to realize what Arafat wasn't able to, that is, that using smarter tactics will more likely achieve their goal and with much of the world's encouragement and approval.

Israel is really in a scary position with Mr. Abbas in power. It seems like a no-win situation at this point. What happens if all of the terror groups quiet down and Abbas pulls the wool over the world's and the Israeli Left's eyes? If terror groups continue to terrorize? That's a horrible situation as well. Israel needs very strong and intelligent leadership to win this next stage of the game.
