Will the real Abbas please stand up?

Reader comment on item: Which Way Will Abbas Go?

Submitted by John Maloney (United States), Jan 11, 2005 at 17:01

Kudos for Daniel Pipes' New York Sun article, which lifts the fog over Mahmoud Abbas' apparent conflict of direction. There is no conflict if you understand the difference between tactics and ultimate goals. Abbas' tactics might be different from Arafat's, but the ultimate goal, the elimination of "the Zionist entity", has not changed.
