Typically people have emigrated from their native countries in order to:
1. Escape persecution for (________) fill in the blanks with religion, politics, race, creed, color, etc.
2. To improve their financial lot and secure employment.
3. To secure a better future for themselves, their children and children's children.
Other countries have chosen to follow the inscription at the base of the Statue of Liberty, Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Huddled Masses Yearning to be Free, and have opened their borders to immigrants from other countries.
For the first time in recorded history, a people—not from a particular country—but from a particular religion have started colonizing other countries with the express purpose of diluting the indigenous population and establishing a base from which to change the political/social makeup of their host countries.
Recently, a documentary spotlighted the Mosque in England that spawned the ‘shoe bomber" and where several of the planners of attacks on American installations and the Trade Centers worshiped and plotted. Among chilling interviews with Muslims belonging to that English mosque, a wife and mother admitted that she was in England for the purpose of rearing children for "jihad." This mother also indicated that she would be very proud if her sons became suicide bombers against the enemies of Islam. Others interviewed at the same mosque also displayed their contempt for their host country and for other countries whose citizens did not share their views.
There are an estimated 1.2 billion Muslims worldwide. One estimate puts the ratio of Muslims as being one in every four people in the world. Understandably, European countries are becoming alarmed at the growing ratios of Muslims within their borders. Even birth rates are being examined in the context of the effect on the social future of the host countries if Muslim birth rates outstrip those of the hosts.
The following quote posted in ridhwaan, on Oct 3, 2004 | 5:26 am, should be enough to give pause to European leaders and even the most liberal non-Muslims.
"in these people know that Islam will dominate the world so they are trying with all their feeble might to slow down the process,,,, Europe will be the land of Islam soon.,,.. so will every other country that opposes Islam... ALLAHU AKBAR!!!!"
Herein lies the problem, and the operative word is "dominate." Stalin dominated Russia and murdered more people than any other dictator in history. Hitler dominated Germany and all the lands he conquered and murdered not only those who opposed him but all whose physical attributes offended him.
Dictators in all continents, including the Ayatollahs in Iran and Sadam Hussein have historically controlled any opposition to their complete domination by executing them. Although Muslims have yet to gain complete control of Holland, they have already started executing their opposition, hence the recent murder of Theo van Gogh.
See http://www.danielpipes.org/article/2218
The reason most Americans have difficulty getting a handle on the problem is because they have little or no understanding of what Muslims are. Muslims live in every world region and belong to many different cultures and ethnic groups. One hundred eighty four countries are home to Muslim populations. (Council on Islamic Education, 1995). Also, Muslims represent many different ethnic groups and linguistic backgrounds.
It is important to understand that Muslims are not a nationality but are people who follow the religion Islam. One website points out that, despite the stereotypes, only 193 million of the world's Muslims—15 to 18 percent of the total—are Arabs.
One website states that the 10 countries with the largest Muslim populations, in descending order, are Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Turkey, Iran, Egypt, Nigeria, and China. Of these, only Egypt is an Arab country.
According to a study by the American Jewish Committee, the Muslim population of the United States is 1.9 million to 2.8 million.
The sixty-four thousand dollar question is this:
How many followers of Islam agree with the militant intent on world domination as quoted in ridhwaan and how many want to live peaceably next door? In a perfect world, the Muslims would deal with their militants in the same way we dealt with radicals such as Jim Jones and David Koresh. Since this is unlikely to happen, we cannot afford to underestimate the threat to our very way of life.
