All in the Name of Multiculturalism

Reader comment on item: [Theo van Gogh and] "Education By Murder" in Holland

Submitted by Pat (United States), Nov 20, 2004 at 12:37

For a long time we in the west have accepted radical Islamists because of our belief in multiculturalism. All cultures are good and none should be suppressed. There's just one problem: the Islamists don't see it as we do. They see their culture as superior and all who oppose it must be annihilated or subdued. A culture which demands conformity and suppresses all dissent should not be allowed preeminence. Until we accept that, we'll never make headway in our battle against terrorism, because political correctness will always have the last word.
