in response to reader comment: One important issue was totally overlooked

'.......e professionals one call PHYSICISTS who have succeeded in giving a logical, consitent view of the world, without supranatural powers,'

Oh,but the 300 sextillion stars of the known universe are floating in a cosmic sea of 'dark matter'. It has never been seen but its presence felt and postulated to make up 70% of the mass of the known universe - so it is supernatural. But what of the unknown universes - and the 'branes' that are said to exist outside of time in other dimensions?

'.... incompassing our macroscopic world as well as the quasi superrealistic two siding worlds which are quantum mechanics (for the ultra small, down to atoms and strings)'

Unfortunately investigations into quantum physics lead not to a nice tidy little 'theory of everything' which one can put into a box and smugly tell his/herself - ' I somehow now know everything'. It should have the opposite effect - i.e. he/she tells him/herself that in all honesty - 'I know nothing'.

As Niels Bohr said, "Anyone who is not shocked by quantum theory has not understood it."

And that is even more pertinent - if when you speak of strings - you mean superstrings. And superstrings nevertheless are just a theory - but the best fit people's minds can come up with after 100 years of research into subatomics. Superstrings are calculated to exist simultaneously in 22 dimensions - and contain all phenomena - all matter, time, energy, space, every thought that has ever been thought or will be thought, every feeling, every anything in all dimensions. So small that if a single atom were the size of our solar system, a superstring string would only be the size of a tree.

At what stage does one admit the obvious and say quietly to oneself - 'I don't have a f&*^*&^ clue' ?

-Albert Einstein

'... and relativity (for the ultra big, in the cosmos, where staight lines simply do not exist!).

Hence, the only trustworthy WELTANSCHAUUNG is the rational one stemming from the CONTROLLED (through results of RESEARCH) state of knowledge brougt to the world by modern physics which leads to adult sense of reality, .....'

Which belies Einstein's realisation that 'imagination is more important than knowledge'

That's just the point - it leads to a world where rationality does not exist. Where particles blink in and out of existence in picoseconds - coming from nowhere. Where in one way 'you' and 'I' simply do not exist

'....As a conclusion, I wish to add that without a healthy WELTANSCHAUUNG, there is no hope of progress in human affairs. '

Agree with you. But a healthy WELTANSCHAUUNG certainly doesn't come from reading more and more books. Some of the biggest nuts I know (some of them physicists ironically) - are people who have the idea that they can figure it all out.

'...The only valid source of inspiration for social and political philosophy is the knowledge of how the world really functions, '

that's the whole point - how can that ever be found out when every instrument has limitations and every observation changes the observed.

'and this is given ONLY by SCIENCE which makes no statements unless they have been PROVEN in poweful mathematical theories AND test labs."

So explain how quantum twinning/entanglement works - where state information travels faster than light across any distance?

" There are known knowns;
there are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns;
that is to say,
there are things that we now know
we don't know.
But there are also
unknown unknowns;
there are things we do not know
we don't know. "

—United States Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld

Knowledge is relative to the limited nature of the mind and the conditions of knowing."
