Explain your analysis of UK re. allowing islamists to work the system and get "to the top"

Reader comment on item: "You can't fight Islamism with ideas coming out of Europe"

Daniel Pipes is thought-provoking as usual, but further analysis of specifically how the UK in particular has permitted, or encouraged perhaps, islamists to "work the system" would be useful. It would also be useful to have further comments re Geert Wilders in the Netherlands and how his actions, and the response of the ethnic Dutch, gives occasion for Daniel's hope of successfully taking on the islamists in that country.

It is a statement of the obvious that muslims must resolve their own internal crises, the question is how that process may be facilitated by majority ethnic populations? Presuming, of course, that sufficient of those groups can be persuaded of the urgency of the need.
