ideas are not good enough

Reader comment on item: "You can't fight Islamism with ideas coming out of Europe"

Sadly I support the point that ideas from the west are not good enough: I understand that many muslims easily accept that western ideas are better than orthodox islam. But better does not make them *right*. Right in the sense of a divine order. Sure, you get quicker to work driving faster exceeding the speed limits. The practicality and power of western technology will not even beat western law in this case. So what could possibly give legitamcy to western ideas seen through muslim eyes ? Maybe, it is about time to point out aspects of islam that go along well with western ideas in order to change perspective and direction. Any suggestions ?
