I enjoyed reading your well laid out points and join you in agreement.

It seems like so many problems were created by the British in their illfitting territorial allocations, and then even worse actions were taken as a result of the USSR playing games with the US. Just think, if Russia had not invaded Afghanistan, the Mujahedeen would not have started, aided by the US against USSR, Iran would probably not had their revolution and the Islamic fundamentalist political machine might not have been grown and nurtured by the soviets as a wedge against the US.
