Reader comment on item: Salam Fayyad Says Yes to Jews Living in a Palestinian State?

Submitted by Skeptic (France), Jul 9, 2009 at 22:10

Palestinian Basic Law says Islam is the national religion and the law of the land is Shari'a. The "State of Palestine" is listed as a member of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference which rejected the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights for being Judeo/Christian/secular and transgressing Shari'a law. In its place, the OIC adopted the discriminatory Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam which takes its sole authority from Shari'a.

Are we really expected to believe that a Palestinian State is going to ditch its Islamic principles and the dhimmifying dictates of Shari'a so it can show "deference" to other religions and "no discrimination whatsoever, on any basis whatsover" to Jews?

I smell a rat.
