I totally agree with Daniel Pipes' conclusion that Secularism is the only solution for islamic fundamentalism and global terrorism. The way to achieve this is to tackle the root cause which is dogmaitism and absoutist thinking that dominate contemporary Islamic and Arab cultures. The only way is to radically change the mentality from religious fundamentalism to secularism. The secularisation process is long and demands the uprooting of the foundations of the current religious thinking in the Arab pennisula, from Ibn Taymiyya and Al-Mawdudi to Averroes (Ibn Rushd), and from rote learning and memorisation, which is the method of the Madrasa, to creative and critical education. I have written extensively on this issue, and could share it with you, if you like.
Regards.
