Keeping Turkey out of the EUReader comment on item: [The RAND Corporation and] Fixing Islam Submitted by Jojo (United Kingdom), Nov 28, 2006 at 08:53 France,Germany,UK , Greece, Italy and the other EU member states have pretty much the same culture. Regional differences but by and by they all have a Euro theme. Turkey has nothing in common with the present EU member states. Lets not forget that the Turkish Republic still refuses to recognise Southern Cyprus. Oh and its appalling human rights record, arranged marriages...would we really want such a country in the EU? Maybe public flogging could be introduced as well...I mean. isn't that common practice in Turkey?Sic.
