Islam remains a threat to people because in today's societies, it is seen as trying to return to the days when Islam's influence was achieved by conquest - convert, become dhimmi, or die. If that were no true today, then explain why Indonesian Christians are under the attack for their faith, or any other location where Christianity is under similar threat from Islam.

One does not induce harmony by threat, even when initiated under the color of false Christianity.
