Reader comment on item: The Enemy Has a Name
in response to reader comment: You fail to convince anyone with your ... arguments

"we have no laws punishing with stoning, decapitation, hanging etc. anyone willing to sell their land to a Jew ... as is the case in Jordan or in your beloved Saudi Arabia "

Mr. Khaled Al-Mutairy writes in response to Ianus ....

there are no Muslim countries with such laws. İ have no idea where you read this fact, but İ got a good laugh. Thanks for reminding me what it feels like to laugh so hard that it really hurts.

My son, could you interrupt your laughter to explain/justify/sugarcoat the following please:

Note for Sudan:

"The Sudanese Penal Code, which is partly based on interpretation of Islamic
Law, allows for penalties such as flogging, amputations and deaths by hanging
or stoning.
While Amnesty International does not take a position on Islamic or
any other religious law, it considers such penalties to be cruel, inhuman and
degrading punishments which are inconsistent with Sudan's obligations under the
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). "

&

In accordance with Shari'a law, the Criminal Act provides for physical punishments including flogging, amputation, stonings, and crucifixion – in this case the public display of a body after execution.
Under article 146 of Sudan 's 1991 Penal Code, "Whoever commits the offence of adultery shall be punished with:
a) execution by stoning when the offender is married (muhsan);
b) One hundred lashes of the whip when the offender is not married (non-muhsan);
c) The male non-married offender may be punished, in addition to whipping, with expatriation for one year".

p.s. We would appreciate not just a one-sentence facile dismissal of these points though.

p.p.s. it's surprising that you should reprimand the initial poster , Ianus, with this: ".....Get your facts straight!! You just made a total fool out of yourself. İt is you who is dreaming, not İ."
