Hezbollah's Victory, Israel's DeclineReader comment on item: Hezbollah's Victory, Israel's Decline Submitted by Jacob Slabiak (United States), Feb 3, 2004 at 12:26 I agree with Daniel Pipes on the immediate impression the deal makes on all terrorists around the world. For Israel, it is a terrible and unthinkable act of principle that the immediate comfort given to four families whose loved ones are returned, three for burial, will bring the state any rest from the continuing violence or give comfort to the many other families whose loved ones will be targeted and killed in times ahead by the released terrorists. As for the rest of the free world fighting international terrorism, I just hope that they do not find themselves in the same situation as a result of Israel's mistakes or, worse yet, concede like the Israeli government did at this time.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
