Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?
in response to reader comment: That's exactly my point

Surah 2 does NOT say that He created the heavens and the earth instantaneously. It says in fact: "He need only say "Be', and it is. If He decided that it would be four days for the earth and two four the heavens, then that is the way it was to "be". "Be", in the context of the rest of the Koran, eg Surah 41does not mean "instantaneous". That is not the word used is it ? It is you that said "instantaneous". The Koran says "Be". Am I wrong, or are they not two different words in English ? According to my Oxford Dictionary of the English language, "Be" the verb means to "to be in existence" or "occur". It doesn't say that this occurrence has to be "instantaneous".

The Koran does not use the word "instantaneous" in this passage. ( has to (I am afraid you have a very poor translation - perhaps you should read it in the Arabic, or get a better translation ? I happen also to be a firm believer in Christ Jesus, and it may surprise you to know that there are many others with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who regard Mohammed also as a prophet from God. You can disagree, but as you know, you do not have authority to judge. But please stop quoting bad translations of the Koran.
