Mr. Chalet's Misguided Views

Reader comment on item: The Travails of Brooklyn's Arabic Academy
in response to reader comment: Violence and terror is universal!

Submitted by Mel Laraway (United States), May 24, 2007 at 13:36

Mr. Chalet is guilty of "moral equivalence". He states that "wars, aggression, terror, genocide and political (sic) motivated violence are a human phenomenon and followers of all cultures and religions have at one time or other participated in it. hence, to try to 'SELECTIVELY' convince the readers that terrorism and violence is an exclusive Muslim monopoly is negated by our collective history. This history reveals that wars and violent acts are universal!"

Mr. Chalet, the roots of the atrocities you described are best ascribed to fascist ideologies, whether it be Nazism, Communism, Fascism, or religious fascism sponsored by corrupt ideologies. However, the plain truth is that Islamofascism today is overwhelmingly the dominant threat to Western Civilization, as well as to the nations in Africa and Asia. Europe is probably going to mutate into "Eurabia" in the next 20 years or so, and Radical Islam is deeply entrenched in mosques in the U.S. as well as Canada and, especially, Europe.

The recent Pew Report has been spun by much of the media to downplay the fact that at least 27% of American Muslims expressed no opinion on Al Qaeda and 25% of Muslim youth approve of suicide bombings "under the appropriate circumstances". Where are all of the moderate Imams coming out and condemning Jihadists and terrorism in the name of Allah? Are they afraid of the "extremists"? It is a fact that Saudi Wahabbism sponsors U.S. mosques and furnishes radical teachers and hate-filled teaching materials, including labeling Jews as descendants of apes and pigs and instructing students that Islam will subdue all other religions and that Sharia law will supercede the Constitution.
