Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?
in response to reader comment: "Allow me to try and explain Tiffany"

I seek to focus on the absolute essentials, saying that if Islam is true, Christianity is false, and Christians are hopelessly and eternally lost.

Not so. The Qu'ran states that any man of any religion may attain salvation, if his heart is pure.

So, having outlined my focus, I continue by saying that Muhammad the prophet of Islam was born some 600 years after the crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, with Islam denying the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ by saying He was just a man, a good man, but nowhere near as good as Muhammad.

Islam actually claims that Allah viewed His Prophets as equal.

If you know nothing else about Islam Tiffany, know that with its "lookalike" claim for who was crucified, deception lies at the very heart of Islam, and ask yourself what this says about the nature and character of Allah, comparing and contrasting that with the nature and character of the God of the Bible Who cannot lie.

"Do not lie" is a tenet of Qu'ranic guidelines. And if Allah "lied," by your interpretation of what it means to have lied, is that not justified in the salvation of His Prophet? The lookalike that was cruxified shall attain the ultimate salvation, according to Islamic theology.

Secondly, I will address your stance on the idea of "lying." To lie is to utter a mistruth, to tell someone that something is when it is not. This bring-in of the lookalike to replace Jesus Christ was definitely not a lie. Deception itself must be looked at in context. I don't quite follow what you mean by making this point.

You ask Tiffany, whether Islam considers the Bible to be the inspired word of Allah, and indeed it does, giving massive and eloquent testimony to the Bible as the unaltered, unalterable word of Allah,

Islam nowhere states that the Bible is unalterable--quite the opposite, in fact. Muslims believe it was corrupted by man. In truth, it was written hundreds of years after Jesus' death, and this is the basis of their claims for its possible alterations.

Let me state, before I'm hounded, that I am not a Muslim, but rather a theologian.
