Israel was there, but it was forcibly dispersed among the nations, not least because of continued Arab occupation of the Land of Israel 1700 years after the Davidic kingdom

The people of Israel were there, Jerusalem was two thirds Jewish, Safed, Tiberias and Yaffo were all inhabited by Jews, but their national expression was severely repressed by the Muslim conquest, in this case the ottoman empire.

Israel and the Jews were there since the days of Joshua. As long as Jews lived on the Land, it prospered. When the Arabs occupied it it withered. Now the Arabs wish to renew the bloody conquest. Wrong, not this time. This time the Arab time is up.
