Having Been Around Different Internet Forum Boards And Blogs, This Looks Mild

in response to reader comment: Debate is respectful

Dear Abdul : Thank you for taking the time from your day to respond back to me. Over the years, since I first started to surf the web, I have been to a number of current events web sites forum posting boards, and in recent years, blogs. These boards and blogs would even have stuff that involves the Middle East what is going on at the time. Most often there would be debates going on on the issues of the current events, the area culture(s), and even of the three major faiths of the areas, Judism, Christianity, and Islam.

What I have seen on this thread and the many other threads of this website would be considered mild compared to the other Middle Eastern websites, forum posting boards, and blogs. Some of the threads and comments in these other online sites have come very close to or have ended up becoming flamming war(s) threads. As long as the rules for posting comments here are respected, then you will come upon the comment or two that you may fine offendsive. What I take from reading these comments is that I learn what other readers here are thinking. Some of the comments can at times sadden me, but they do not suprise me because issues in regards to the Middle East, culture, and faith are going to be both very hot topics and sensitive issues of debate for a long time to come. I tend to not even bother to read the really harsh comments. Best to not even read the most difficult ones. In the end, it is websites like the Daniel Pipes websites and others that in the end are going to foster the needed communications, debate, and understanding.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comments. Peace, AnneM
