Remember That Isaac Was Born Because God Kept His Promise To Abraham

That God would build a nation ( Israel, the Jewish people, and by extention, the Christians ) starting with the birth to Abraham and Sarah, of Isaac. Isaac was born to Abraham after he accepted patience in waiting for the promise of God to happen. The birth of Ishmael is a lesson in the need to keep patience because Abraham did not keep patience, thinking that the promise of God would be realized if he fathered a child through Hagar. It is a lesson in being patient and waiting for the Lord God.
