Yes both Isaac and Ismael are son's of Abraham, but God made HIs convenant with Abraham through Isaac not Ismael.

" Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. " Genesis 17:19

God loves every body. By making Israel HIS chosen people He was fufilling a promise made to Abraham.God established a covenant with Abraham. (A convenant is similar to a promise or a contract). That convenant, or promise, was passed down to Abraham's son, Isaac, and then to Isaac's son, Jacob (see Genesis 35:9-12).

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ redeemed human kind such that anyone who accepts Jesus as his saviour becomes a child of God. Becomes part of His chosen people.

"God loved the people of this world so much that He gave His only son, so that everyone who has faith in Him will have eternal life and never die "(John 3:16).

"because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace with God" (Romans 5:1).
