I personally don't think it is. The fact is, though, that in an open, liberal democracy, it is simply not acceptable to use intimidation and threats of violence to force your views on others. This was the whole point of the Danish cartoon fiasco. Yes, people have a right to their moral beliefs. And they have the right to protest in a peaceful manner that which they find morally objectionable. What they do not have a right to do is to force their religious or moral beliefs on society at large by using intimidation and violence. And this is what the Islamists do all day long. The more Western society gives into these heavy-handed tactics, the more they will be emboldened to continue on until what? As another poster suggested, maybe until it will be forbidden for a woman to wear a short skirt or bare her arms! When will their demands end?
