Jesus as God

Nope. And let me explain. In the Hebrew Bible the name for God is usually rendered as LORD in all capital letters. We don't know how to say the name of God so putting Jehovah or Yahweh in there is just silly. But when God is referred to as Adonai (my lord), it is written Lord (not all capital letters).

In this second instance Lord means master, even like a landlord.

In the New Testament, since it was written in Kione Greek, we have no idea which type of "lord" we are talking about. And the Greek word for worship can also be likened to an adult seeing a newborn baby and leaning down saying, "Oh my goodness! You are so sweet. Yes you are...Cooing over the newborn like any family or friend would just after a birth in the hospital and getting to see and hold the infant for the first time.

You have to always look at the team of translators who translated the version of the Bible you have. Look at what seminaries they came from. Contact them through email, I've done it and they do write back.

One seminary for the WELS Lutherans (I think it is Northwestern) was sent rough copies of the New Testament for the NIV before it came out. The seminary found all sorts of mistranslated words and phrases and sent proposed changes back. The translation team didn't listen one bit because it didn't fit in with the beliefs they were trying to adhere to.

My advice is to learn the languages, or at least try to learn them before you take up the challenge of debating the scriptures.

I refuse to discuss the Old Testament unless the person is fluent in Hebrew. That would be like taking piano lessons from someone who can't read music!
