To Burton: Quran is Quran

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?
in response to reader comment: Calcutta Quran Petition ( to ban Quran in India)

Submitted by Nuray (Portugal), Dec 3, 2005 at 15:55

Dear Burton,

Bengal was divided in 1947. Eastern part with Muslim majority is independent state of Bangladesh and its western part is West Bengal province in India. Recently the capital of West Bengal, Calcutta, has been renamed as Kolkata. Muslims are not having majority in Kolkata.

If minority groups have any criminal action like raping he should be jailed. This is what happened in French riot. Every country has its own constitution. Criminal actions shouldn't be associated with any religion. French riot couldn't be labelled as Islamic action. Those were French originally 2nd or 3rd African generation.

Asking for a ban on the Quran is ridiculous. We Muslim don't have a similar facility like Church putting ban certain issues like homosexuality or abortion. Quran is Quran.
