Question for Nuray

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

Submitted by Edward . (United States), Nov 7, 2005 at 13:45

Nuray,

Why is it that all islamists always quote the same aya "there is no compulsion in religion" when the world knows that islam is the most intolerant religion? Any one who criticizes islam gets death threats. All sharia countries have death penalty for blasphemy. Muslims are still looking to kill Ahmad Rushdi for writing a blasphemous book. If Allah said "there is no compulsion in religion then why did he also say the following and many ayas like it.

Qur'an 33:8 "He has prepared for the Unbelievers a grievous Penalty."
Qur'an 24:39 "For those who disbelieve, their deeds are like a mirage in the desert. There is no water for the thirsty. He only finds Allah, who will pay him his due in Hell."
Qur'an 24:57 "Never think that the unbelievers can escape in the land. Their abode is Fire!"
Qur'an 4:12 "Those who disobey Allah and His Messenger and transgress His limits will be admitted to a Fire, to abide therein: And they shall have a humiliating punishment."
