Palestinian Christians

Reader comment on item: The Way to Peace

Daniel,

Palestinian christians - where do they fall in your paradigm? They aren't muslims and yet are as much of the Palestinian national movement as their muslim brethren. You speak of an Islamic rejection of Jewish state but palestinian christians hate Israel just as much. Your argument therefore falls apart as Palestinian christians are certainly not muslims.

Daniel Pipes replies:

1. Palestinian Christians are now tiny percentage of the Palestinian population.

2. Historically, Christians played a major role in some of the most extreme anti-Zionist movements but, with the rise of Islamism, that era has ended.
