The Path to Peace Now Possible with a Trump Victory

If Israel has the foresight and courage to follow the map you have drawn, the Trump victory in Washington should allow Jerusalem to execute the dramatic shift in diplomacy required to make it successful.

I would point out that such a shift in policy will require a material escalation in the use of force that may be uncomfortable both in certain circles in Israel and among American Jews. The implementation of these policies must be aggressive and consistent or they will fail to convince moderates and the left of their value in securing peace -- success is convincing even to skeptics. This violence, however, should not be collective punishment of the entire Arab population in the West Bank, but directed at those individuals, institutions, and organizations (inclusive of those individuals and communities that harbor and support them). Additionally, you failed to address the role of external military and terrorist threats on Israel's border and their role in Palestinian politics-- specifically Hezbollah. Their war against Israel and Western Civilization in general is independent of policy making by the PA and they must be brought into your matrix of new policy initiatives.

The financial and military levers required to change their aspirations in regards to disposition of the West Bank can only be successfully moved by substantial assistance from the new occupant of the White House.
