Allah=God?

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God?

Religion is whatever it is interpreted to be by its followers. So, even amongst Christians, there are different sects with different interpretations. Catholics and Protestants can't even agree whether or not to worship a Trinity or saints. Jews have different sects, too. Orthodox try to interpret the Bible literally and Reform interpret it symbolically.

So, too, Islam has different sects. I am not informed enough to know if different sects look at Allah differently, but I will assert that those who see Allah as different from the Jewish or Christian God are following their religion.

Interfaith activity DOES take place even by the Wahhabists that dwell in America. That doesn't mean that the Wahhabists respect Christians and Jews, etc. That doesn't mean that the Wahhabists in America who participate in these "interfaith dialogues" won't try to take over America and destroy the "infidels." But the Wahhabists see this as a way to gain trust.

Even if dhimmitude were not as old as the Quran, itself (if Jews and Chrstians believe in God and God=Allah, how can Jews and Christians be seen as infidels?) the religion of Islam, today, is whatever the current interpretations are. If the current interpretations by Muslims is that Allah does not equal God, then there is a difference between the two.

I think that many Jews and Christians who have studied these religions also see that their Gods are different from each other and that they are different from Allah.
