Dangerous Presidents? We already have one. I think we'll survive another

Hello, Sunshine.

I missed the "Fascist Salute" episode. It appears that Godwin's Law

has struck my favorite blog. I pray that God preserve us all, and see us safely through the current election cycle.

I remember the 1960s, when newspapers had to present at least a veneer of partiality, because they were dependent on the multi-faceted local community for their income. Nowadays, with people getting their news on the Internet, they can just click on an icon to hear whatever version of "truth" they wish to hear. As a result, most people in the Western world essentially get "news" that is merely a play-back of their own thoughts. The resut is new sites and channels that ignore truth completely, and say whatever strikes their fancy -- like that site calling Donald Trump's supporters "Fascists" for raising their hands in response to a question.

My prediction of the election results for 2016 are,

1. There's a good chance that we will actually have an election, unless there's a military coup or something (a distinct possibility, according to what I read).
2. Our next President will probably be human -- biologically speaking; but I won't venture about their ethical nature.
3. With the help of God, whoever gets elected, we will probably muddle through until the next election -- unless God, in His sovereign judgment, decides that enough is enough and decides to end things once and for all.

Other than those admittedly broad predictions, I haven't a clue. Concerning Mr. Trump, I plan to vote for him. I am a retired white male in a multiracial family, with a Master's Degree in Chemistry; and I tell every pollster that calls that I have no opinions about anything, and that they should go take a hike.

Meanwhile, we have Barack Obama as an already-elected Presidential disaster; and you have Justin Trudeau. To his credit, Trudeau has not changed Canada's traditionally pro-US and pro-Israel voting in the UN. We'll take friends like that, wherever we can find them.

Shalom shalom :-)
