Israel has already lost the war

Reader comment on item: Lessons of the War in Gaza

Submitted by Michael S (United States), Aug 22, 2014 at 16:09

The fact that HAMAS has withstood Israel, with heavy fighting, for a month, is an automatic victory for HAMAS. Things can only go downhill from here. In 1967, the entire Egyptian Air Force was destroyed in a day. One month into the war with an enclave some 4 miles wide and 24 mile long (the size of a SMALL township in the US), HAMAS is still lobbing rockets at Israelis and killing them:

Small boy killed by Hamas mortar

DEBKAfile August 22, 2014, 10:24 PM (IDT)

"Mortar fire from the Gaza Strip killed a four-year old boy at an Eshkol District village Friday whilie he was running for shelter..The shell was fired from an UNRWA school n the Shejaiya district of Gaza City."

So much for trying to keep the "moral high ground" -- only to sink in quicksand. I dare say, heads will roll in the knesset. Even 2006 was a glorious victory, compared to this. Corruption. Corruption. Incompetence.
