Middle Eastern Response ... ?

Reader comment on item: Lessons of the War in Gaza

Submitted by Alex (United States), Aug 10, 2014 at 00:36

Does Dr. Pipes predict that the new apparent tacit alignment between Israel one the one hand and Egypt, Saudia and other GCC countries will hold or lead to any long-term consequences?

Would Sisi and Abdullah still refrain from speaking or acting against Israel if the latter attacked the Iranian nuclear program?

Daniel Pipes replies:

Long-term consequences, yes, but also limited ones. These are deals made by leaders not endorsed by their populations.
