in response to reader comment: Teaching in islamic schools

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), has also said that the ink of the scholar is greater than the blood of the martyr. If the martry observes jihad while dying in the path of God, so does the scholar, by spreading the word of God with his pen, by removing misconceptions about Islam that people harbour...especially one such as this, that the Qur'an teaches that a martyr will be rewarded with "unlimited sex with gorgeous partners". How outrgeous!

Jihad has always meant to be the struggle of the self against evil...

And the Qur'an does not preach hatred against non-muslims.It is the people who come up with their own distorted interpretations of the Holy Qur'an, who spread the message of violence and hatred and prejudice, all in the name of Islam. Definitely for political reasons, not religious.

Today's jihad is very obvious...so many people are creating this negative image of Islam...Muslims and non-Muslims alike...should we put to death all of these people? Is that jihad? Should we go up to them one by one and shoot them? What would that solve? The wrong notions will still be there...it is the negativity that they have produced that we have to dispell. This is jihad.

Muslims should have the guts to accept that there are places where the youth is being prejudiced against the non-Muslims..it is true...but there is something they can do about that...they should try to make the non-Muslims understand that what is being taught is not the true essence of Islam. We believe in a God of love and peace...like all people...

This is what is so hard to do..to change people's opinions about yourself once they have established something in their minds and refuse to listen to anything else...this is the jihad that is required of a believer.

The Qur'an does not discriminate.God does not teach hatred against His own creation. The doors of Heaven are open to ALL the rigteous people, which includes people from all religions.
