Reader comment on item: What Are Islamic Schools Teaching?
in response to reader comment: the fake religion?

Submitted by Decendant of Mohammed (United Kingdom), Jun 15, 2009 at 13:08

I was brought up as a strict religious (islam) individual and experinced what it really meant to be a muslim. I come from a family of strict muslim faith. Over the years I have questioned my believes and with so much knowledge about the religion I came to the conclusion that all religions are made by humans for control and that includes mine.

I now see why I wasn't allowed to question. In fact when you break down the Quran you can clearly see many aspects that make no sense. If you don't believe me ask your self do you realy understand what you are claiming to believe in. The facts show that religion is a weapon of war.

If mohammed was a man of peace then the muslim community can't surely be his followers, because I see hatred and disgust of other religions. I concur with Katie and other open minded free speaking individuals. I am truly ashamed of who I was, but I have woken up to reality.

My children are free to decide if they want follow a religion. I am not going to brain wash them from start. Just imagine believing in something you have chosen to. That must mean much then being born into it. One thing I don't understand. I come from very strict muslim background and was it strict. This was made by being the decendant of mohammed so in fact he is my great great .. grandfather. Well I want to tell you something. I beginning to think these people were not messengers of god, but may be they were experiencing mental ill health. Respect to people with mental illness you are humans alike. What other explanation is there?.

So I say to my fellow humans who are still looking for the truth. Stop looking, be free individual thinkers, shake your self from claws of religion, stop the hatred, stop the killing in the name of religion, open your mind, love your self ,love everyone around you, love the beautiful animals, love and respect the planet, be kind, be truthful, be inovative, explore, be yourself, stop drugs, stop smoking, eat well, drink sensibly, respect other peopls views, open to your to infine posibilities, don't take information lying down challenge and search for understanding and reasoning. Because I have and no was,nt easy infact it was extremely difficult to under the conditioning I went through.

One way to look at religion is to look at someone elses and think why does not make sense to you. Then think what they will be thinking about yours. Pretend youre intelligent alien looking at humans for the first time . How much will it pity at what majority of humans have become. Let the world be based on facts and 21st century reality. Thank you for reading.

Sorry for the grammar or spelling. I didn't give my name because I fear for the reaction to this from fellow brothers of islamic faith, because you know what happens if truth is shared. Just to let you know I am not alone in this idea. I dont want any followers. this is just my belief. With lived experience.

Many of my friends(muslim and non-muslim) share my view. I am no one special. I am just a human. I just want to remind you that I come from a strict muslim background, but even that could not stop me from becoming an independent thinker. If I can do this, then you can too, you just have to think openly and not fall victim of religous conditioning.

Yes I also beleive its not very difficult if they are born into the teaching of thier relgion, but you can change I did it and my mind is clear and of no regrets. I only hope more people will snap out. Don't worry about what other people will think. But be careful not to insult anyone or your own religion, because it could have nasty concequeces. Dont try to change others. let them change themselves.

Lots of love. and deeply sorry if I offended anyone.
