Dr. Pipes

Here is David Kirkpatrick's article in the NYT about "what really happened in the Bengahzi atrocity" http://www.nytimes.com/projects/2013/benghazi/?hp#/?chapt=0

His claims that the Muhammad video must be blamed at least in part for the attack on the consulate in Benghazi but he does not tell us what was so special about the video that inspired such attack. Yes the video denigrates Islam and Muhammad but youtube is full of videos that denigrate Muhammad and islam and the Qur'an and if Mr Kirkpatrick would have taken the time he would have come across the videos of مصري ملحد or Egyptian Atheist who posts vidoes that make fun of islam and the Qur'an and Muhammad with titles the likes of اسلام والكس or islam and the vagina and in this video he cuts into pieces a copy of the Qur'an http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHiLK_4B6w0 but where are the riots? In other words what was so special about the Muhammad's video that led to such attack?

It seems to me that it would make more sense that Muslim terrorists committed such atrocity on September 11 because of the symbolism of such day and because there was no Muammar al-Gaddafi to hold them back and welcome to the Arab spring. The Muhammad video? Its rule in the atrocity is marginal at best
