If Turkey is an Islamist country, why ignore Turkey's criticism of the riots?

Erdoğan has offically condemned the attack, and offered condolences to America. His government also did not add a caveat by blaming the anti-Islamic movie for the attacks.

These Islamist riots have not, and will not, spread to Turkey. And yet, Daniel Pipes calls Turkey an Islamist country.

If Turkey is an example of "Islamism 2.0", perhaps it is exactly what the Muslim world needs.

Daniel Pipes replies:

Erdoğan being much more experienced than Morsi, he knows he has to condemn the attacks on embassies. He undermines the West in his more subtle ways. Note what his ally Fethullah Gülen is up to with his network of schools.
