"Supine" is right

The Administration speaks at the both corners of mouth. If there is no justification (none !) for the acts of violence in breaching the sovereign territory of the USA in Cairo, and killing of US diplomats in Benghazi, why the sop to the fanatics in assuring them the US gov "rejects/deplores denigration of religious beliefs" ?

Why to mention it at all ? Or why not to say, if you want to mention it: "we categorically reject any link between these acts of hostility to the United States and claims of injury to Muslim religious sentiments stemming from the right to free speech under the Constitution of the United States !"?
