Reader comment on item: The Danger Within: Militant Islam in America [and Its Dreams of Domination]

Submitted by Sarah Khan (United Kingdom), Jan 17, 2005 at 20:16

Hi my name is Sarah and I am a Muslim from England.

I have been reading all the other comments on this site and would just like to say that everyday we are hearing more and more about how Muslims are destructive and fanatical.

We are not. We are just like you, we go to work, pay taxes, obey the law and just want to get on with our everyday life. It's getting harder and harder to do this now.

The actions of a few so called Muslims should not be used as a way to identify every single one.

Looking at the majority of comments here only proves that we are hated simply for following Islam. I have friends from all backgrounds, White, Black, Indian, Jewish, Other Muslims etc.

I went to an all Catholic girl school for six years and even attended every regular Mass. Joining in with the hymns and learning about the Catholic way of life as well as learning about the other major religions opened my eyes to many great things found in different cultures and religions.

How long will it take for this systematic hatred to pass, first it was the total and complete distruction of entire North and South American tribes, the cruel Slavery of Black men and women, then the disgusting torment and brutal atrocity against the Jews and we it seems are next on the hit list.

Who will it be after us? I can't be the only one who sees this-surely. We are all we have, what else is there? Please look beyond what seems to be the trend. How many times does humanity have to make the same mistake?

It is 2005 and mankind is still treading the same bloody War path that it has for centuries, so much for being civilized.
