Meaning of Islam

I thought Islam meant "Submission" As such a peaceful religion, as suggested, why do they not allow other religions to share their feelings with Muslims (call it proselytyzing)? What is there to be afraid of? Why shouldn't the Bible be read - Quran 10:94 makes clear it is a foundational document - "But if thou are in doubt as to that which We (Muslims) have revealed to thee ask those who read the Book (the Bible) before thee. Certainly the Truth has come to thee from the Lord, so be not thou of the doubters." Through the Bible assurance of Salvation is available to all mankind, not at the whim of Alla, but offered because of the sacrifice of Christ - guaranteed if you believe.
