... Research?

Reader comment on item: Count Palestine Refugees?
in response to reader comment: Maybe you should do some research before posting comments

Your comment about "Doing some research" is laughable.

Is John Phillips your real name? I cannot believe you cannot see the obvious differences between what happens TODAY in Middle Eastern, India and North African countries, and the link you provided!

The link you provided as an example, was a clear breach of US laws, and law enforcement agencies in the US actively enforce these laws. Also the perpetrators obviously knew they were breaking the law, and did not believe they were acting with any moral authority or religious justification. They were clearly criminals.

Contrast this with the situation in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Both countries only reluctantly outlawed slavery in the 1960s, both countries still actively pursue slaves and their law enforcement agencies have hardly bothered to enforce any of the anti slavery laws unless shamed by outside governments. The perpetrators believ they have a moral right and religious duty to own slaves. One Kuwaiti female Politician actually suggested Kuwait introduce laws allowing female sex slaves, sourced from female Russian captives, to be openly sold to Muslim men. Imagine that flying in the US congress??

If you cannot see the difference ...
