Reader comment on item: The Unthinkable Consequences of an Iran-Israel Nuclear Exchange

Submitted by stanley b (United States), May 21, 2012 at 22:08

As unthinkable as it is, there is a very real possibility that Israel will be forced to strike pre-emptively on Iran's nuclear facilities if intelligence indicates that an attack is imminent. Israel cannot afford to be wrong and cannot afford to be passive. If the rest of the countries did their duty properly, there might be a hope that economic isolation and sanctions would have a real impact. As it stands now, with China and Russia waffling over the slightest condemnation, these sanctions can never have the influence that they need to. It will be an awful day to come and I hope that something, somehow, stops it from happening.
