From what I have read, This statement could be true. I have read that Islam believes that it was somebody else upon the cross who looks just like Jesus. Now, tell me, does that sound reasonable? So, Judas kissed the wrong guy? He hung himself for turning in the wrong guy for money? Who stood before Pontius Pilate? Who was it that presented John to Mary and said, "Woman, behold thy son!", and "Son, behold thy mother." You mean to say that Mary was going deaf and couldn't recognize her son or even his voice that she was fooled into thinking that the man on the cross was her son and that the man on the cross would have the presence of mind of Jesus Christ to be able to speak only loving words as he his body had been severely pierced multiple times, through flesh and bone. Who asked God to forgive them for "they know not what they do"? Islam apparently supports the ascension of Jesus into Heaven, but not the crucifixion. They cannot justify Islam if the Savior has already come. It appears to me that Islam was born partially out of a refusal to believe in the Word of God that was already written.
