i recall the stories about the ostrich, a large flightless bird of Australia. in times of danger, the ostrich buries his head in the sand, so it cannot see the approaching danger, which means to the bird brain that it's safe. i cannot say for certain if the ostrich actually does bury it head to escape peril, or if this tale is just a myth, among the native folk lore of down under.

i can say however that the administration of our country, along with the various department heads, and their subordinates must certainly be emulating the ostrich, because everyone who is supposed to be on watch for danger seem to actually hiding their heads and saying "i don't see a thing wrong". no one will come to grips with situation our country is facing, which simply put, is that there is a very large group of lunatics tryimg to kill as many Americans as they possibly can, utilizing many fantatic schemes to bring their aims about.

what is so terrible is that our "leaders" do not seem to believe that there is any real problem or danger with these murderous cretins. they refuse to call them what they are. instead they come up with a huge amount of politcally correct terms to refer to this merry band of killers. i sadly recall the shock and rage of the immediate post 9/11 days. so much time has passed that the terrible memories of that awful day, when doomed people leaped to their death to escape the flames of the Trade Center Towers, when some brave people chose to fight rather then accept their murders plan to crash their plane into some Washingto DC building, that those in charge seem to forget what happened that day.

we've been lucky that there has not been any major terror attacks taking place in America, with the huge loss of life that our enemies crave so much, so far. just remember, these so called "militants" haven't been sleeping. they probe again and again seeking that chink, and those chinks are there. our biggest danger is complacency. one day they will once again cause much death and destruction, and we'll shake our fists at the heavens demanding "justice and retribution" it would be so much better to drop the mask of political correctness and do what is necessary to avert the attack before it occurs. does anyone think that we'll get out guard up and keep it there, or will it take another tragedy to jolt us awake.
