You wrote: "In other words, because U.S. security agencies refuse to take the sensible precaution of concentrating their resources on the small target pool of suspects, namely Muslims, about 1 percent of the population, hundreds of millions of passengers must bear the burden of extra cost, inconvenience, and loss of privacy."

I absolutely agree that security agencies should take added precautions. In fact concentrate their efforts on their targeted lists. But you named "Muslims" as the 1 % of the populations that are to blame for the hundred of millions of passengers potential inconvenience. I do enjoy your articles from time to time, I know very well that you know, that the slightest slip while writing can be interpreted as something completely different. The way you wrote this suggests that Muslims make up 1% of the population, and they are the reason for this transportation havoc, created after 9/11. Muslims make up more than 25% of the worlds population (and it is the fastest growing religion)

The international terrorists you are referring to, are not religious. The text of the Quran does not justify what they are doing. I am not particularly religious myself, but anyone with common sense knows they are just the unfortunate radical few that take advantage of our tolerance and in return preach their radical propaganda to manipulatable minds, that carry out these heinous crimes. Think about radical groups of every religion. (same concept) I just wanted to make that clear, so that any potential reader, wouldn't mis interpret your article. thanks for your time.

My 1 percent figure refers to Muslims in the United States, not the world.
