Your observation is 100% false.

For you to suggest that "today, to live in America under OUR system, muslims must essentially renounce Islam" means first of all that Muslims are NOT Americans. My understanding of the system you are refering to here is the system of LIBERTY. Liberty for you to take beer on friday at 7:am unabated. The liberty for you to show off your thighs, breasts and all.

The same liberty however should provide for Muslims NOT to show their legs and breasts and thighs. To practice their religion to the fullest, at choice. The same liberty that allows catholic nuns to cover up and no one in the entire world has ever come up to shout that "look, nuns are slaves. They are being oppressed". The same liberty that allows for jews to grow their beards without being called names. The liberty for moslems and their faith to be respected and left alone.

The sum of my submission therefore is that the system, OUR system allows for an American to be practicing muslim without necessarily refining the islamic values or renouncing Islam. It is only disgruntled losers without a faith to subscribe to because theirs has been refined over the centuries that even just last month (at a conference in Israel), the Anglican church for instance was further dividided into yet two more opposing sides. Those are the consequencies of refining and subjecting religion to change to suit peoples earthly desires. Such disgruntled losers who want the moslems to throw away the treasure they are holding.
