Reader comment on item: Which Has More Islamist Terrorism, Europe or America?

Submitted by Singha (India), Jul 5, 2008 at 01:13

In India historically over a period of 1000 years, Hindus have preferred appeasment solutions to tame islam and islam has always rebounded with more violence and terrorism.

The only approaches that have worked against islam were to paying them back by the same coin. Ranjit Singh's iron rule in Punjab (In fact Ranjit Singh's domain makes up most of what we call pakistan today) and Shivaji's fight against Moslems in Central India are believed to have prevented conversion of India to islam.

The return to appeasement solutions in India by Congress party has resulted in creation of moslem majority pakistan, more moslem terrorism and intolerance manifested recently by ethnic cleansing of Hindus in many moslem majority areas. Yet when Indian leaders like Narendra Modi was willing to face muslim terrorism head on, they have succeeded in rolling back muslim terror.
