I perceive a reluctance in Europe and the U.S. to face the fact that many Muslims are anti-West and pro-violence. So far as radicalizing more by getting after the potential or real terrorists, I think that is a false idea. Finding and punishing terrorists should make people less willing to engage in it. Not all of them want to be martyrs and die for their cause.

I think some people use the "ostrich" technique (actually I don't think the ostriches ever used it) and bury their heads (including their brains) in the sand and hope that by ignoring the terrible threat that somehow magically it will just go away...
