Reader comment on item: CAIR's Assault on Paul Harvey

Submitted by John Borgman, Jr. (United States), Dec 25, 2003 at 12:21

The outrageous bashing of Paul Harvey by that Stalinist politburo CAIR and the immediate capitulation by GE represents two of the biggest impediments to America ever winning the war on terror.
I'm convinced mainstream Americans---a sizable majority of this country---are appalled every time any factual characterization of Islam as, in fact, a movement based upon intolerance and hate. Dr. Pipes himself, I believe, has been grilled upon the CAIR spit in the media due to merely stating such facts.
Until our 'compassionate' (read: lacking the guts to really get out and stand for conservative and mainstream American values) president reads deeply of Dr. Pipes' work and Mr. Pryce-Jones' 'The Closed Circle' and abandons the ridiculous fiction that most Muslims support the West and our values our nation is destined to muddle through this war.
As a well-read, realistic American I'm dumbfounded that more than two years following the Sept. 11 atrocities our government refuses to support Israel, liquidate Arafat and his blood-soaked cadre of kleptocrats and target the intelligence headquarters of Iran and Hezbollah with cruise missiles. The lack of will to truly wage total war against our Islamic enemies who see this as a culture war to the death is behind the creeping dissatisfaction of our citizens with the progress of the conflict in Iraq.
